Herbert Sports was founded in East Grinstead, West Sussex over 30 years ago and has built a reputation for selling products for most traditional sports including running, fitness, swimming, racket sports, team sports and many more. We are well known for our excellent customer service and employ a team of dedicated sportsmen and women all trained to give advice on the many products we sell.

The Directors of Herbert Sports, Angie and Craig each have over 20 years experience in the independent sports trade and participate in many different sports themselves. Under their leadership Herbert Sports opened a second branch in Chichester in November 2005, with a new team now successfully serving the needs of that area of West Sussex.

Many “sports shops” have gone down a “fashion” route, abandoning the traditional sports in favour of leisurewear. Herbert Sports is proud to have retained its sporting heritage and concentrates on technical sports products. If you need a new pair of running shoes, a technical garment for the gym or a pair of specialist swimming goggles, you have come to the right place. However, recognizing that there is also a growing demand for branded leisure and fashionwear, a recent addition to the company’s portfolio is Pulse8 Style with a new shop in East Grinstead High Street as well as a dedicated website, selling brands such as Quiksilver, Roxy, Animal, Etnies and Nike ACG.

As a sponsor of many local sports teams, and having links with numerous schools and clubs in West Sussex, Herbert Sports feels very much part of the community and is often to be seen at events in the area.

Much of their success can be put down to the fact that the Directors will turn their hands to anything, from rolling their sleeves up to refit a shop, to selecting the next season’s ranges, to driving the van, to doing the accounts and to modelling clothes for the website. Their enthusiasm infects the staff and results in happy and productive customer service teams.
